Spring is just around the corner and it can’t come soon enough! Nothing brightens our days more than a cheerful rainbow, and these adorable printable rainbow coloring pages are a great way to welcome spring with a smile! Growing up in Chicago, rainbows have always been a wonderful rare treat. But when I lived in Arizona for a few years in college, I was surprised to see that they get them so much more often than we do here – I miss that so much! The seven main colors that appear naturally in real rainbows are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple-Blue Indigo and Violet. The first coloring page below has all seven color bands, but the others have six, so if you want to be true to nature, it would be easiest to leave out Indigo to get the full spectrum effect.
Over on Craft Jr., we have two fun rainbow crafts/recipes: this construction paper rainbow mobile (great for grades K-4), and a yummy rainbow fruit platter – it will get nearly any kid to eat their fruit serving for the day!
